Orientalism is just as prevalent in novels as it is in art, being one of the oldest forms shown here. Many of the other forms will often be adaptations of novels, such as Dune. Speaking recently, orientalism has found a spot within the genre of romance, with the tropes of oversexualization and exoticism of Middle Eastern men being present.
