Comics
Comics are usually made with the same formula. Have a hero and a villain, those who do good and those do evil, with the hero’s method being beating up the bad guy. Both of these comics were made with this formula, having a clear distinction in good and evil. They both feature Eastern people, one on the side of evil and the other on the side of good. Both were also made with the supposed idea of the creator as being positive portrayals.
Holy Terror (2011)
Holy Terror follows a white protagonist who, after a terrorist attack by Islamic extremists, goes on a murderous rampage for justice. The author has said that this has nothing to do with Muslims, but is simply against terrorism. However with the story elements, designs, and historical similarities it is clear to be based on 9/11 and the idea of all Muslims being terrorists.
The Arabian Knight (1981)
The character of Arabian Knight first appeared as a side character in an edition Hulk. The character has no meaningful characterization. His hero attire is directly based off orientalist art. He wields a scimitar, a stereotypical weapon used to represent the Middle East, and has a magical flying carpet, directly from Disney’s Aladdin.
